Bouquet (Tackle) Toss

brimatthewblogger024.jpg
This is not just an urban legend, folks; tossing the bridal bouquet to the single women at your wedding can be intense, hysterically funny, and downright dangerous. These single girls are not above tackling another woman for the chance at marital bliss, especially after attending a wedding as lovely as yours! If you’re the first of your friends to get married, and this ritual seems like it may send a poor girl to the hospital, or at least cause some tears, consider a few alternatives:
  •  A dance-off that rewards the last girl and guy standing boogyin’ with the bouquet and garter.
  •  Spread the love– untie the ribbon holding together your bridal bouquet, and and all the ladies will be pleasantly surprised when the flowers go flying in all different directions!
  • A men’s arm-wrestling contest for the garter.
  • My favorite option, awarding it to the couple attending the wedding who has been married the longest. Have a slow song played for all the married couples while your MC starts asking only certain couples to stay out on the dance floor as the song progresses. “If you’ve been married for 2 hours or less, leave the floor….” 5 years, 10 years, etc. I once saw a husband and wife win the bouquet who had been married for 61 years! The couple will glow like they did on their own weddingday, the crowd will love it, and you + your groom just may find your new marriage role models. ;-)
